Question on Crank Case Breather Boxes. I will be replacing my oil filler neck with one that has a hose connection for an aftermarket breather, as I’m going to dual carbs. I’m noticing that all the breather boxes contain additional connections intended to route to the valve covers. Seeing as how the original engine did not come with these, that I know of, is there a real benefit, or need, to venting the valve covers in this fashion?

Second question would be based off the answer to the first. If needed I’m thinking the best way to make this happen would be to mill out the opening needed and tig weld in the connection point?

Mine already had the breather box installed when I bought it, but your method sounds logical. I know the reason it was installed is because the mechanical fuel pump was removed and a blank was installed.
