This is the light truck i was trying to think of in the above post...

it has the beetle engine sitting behind the seat inside the cabin...

great for changing the points etc when its raining.... lol  ...

A Radio probably wasn't included as You could just listen to the engine sitting slightly behind you....

and You would have ear plugs in anyway.....lol...

 

These trucks were sold [RHD} in Australia between 1950 and 1952...

and a few have popped up on the VW scene over here...

One still belongs to the same family who bought it originally...

and its in great condition... I don't belive they would sell it...

I few others are being restored....

there are probably a few others out there, that the owners don't know they are a sought after vehicle...

 

I read where the VW factory didn't supply the engines direct to Tempo...

but I haven't read where the engines were obtained from...

I presume you would have to drive with the windows down too...

or the engine would suck all the air out....  lol..

 

these are a front wheel drive vehicle too...
