I am restoring the Bug and was told the rims are not in the best of shapes. So if I replace the rims I might as well give thought to the rims and tires. Common sense would say a wider tire would be safer and offer a better ride but there is a concern about rubbing?   Vacillating between 195/65-15 or 185/70-15 or 185/65-15.   I want to put white walls on so the choices seem to be limited.  Also finding a stock rim of 6 inches to fit the 195s is not easy either.   I could go 5.5.  I have wandered around the internet looking for tires and seem to be limited to Diamond Back and Cooker and Cooker only sells the 165R15.  So I guess my questions are can a 195/65-15 tire fit on the Bug without rubbing, are there stock rims that best fit that tire or the 185 as I don’t want all of the spoke rims offered and where do I go to find these rims and tires?  Peter Wright
