"First off, I’m smart enough to know that I don’t know hence this email to you who do.
I have a 1600 DP that is, as far as I can tell, a stock engine when I started. I pulled the engine, cleaned it up and installed a set of Dual Solex 35 PDSIT Carbs on it. After taking the car to my local mechanic he told me that the stock dizzy was shot and floating around, Dwell ran from 4.5 to 46 deg. when he tested it.
I’m going to replace the whole ignition system while I’m at it and would like your suggestions as to the best way to go.
I was looking at the “New” Compu-Tronix DIS4-009 system but they do not show that it can be used in a SVDA Dizzy. I would like to stay with the Vac. Adv. To help with the “Flat Spot” everyone talks about. At the Compu-Tronix web site under FAQ section there is nothing, but a test set up (Q1-A1 Q2-A2) I figure you guys might know if the new system is in some way compensating for this?
