Hi everyone.
I live in Fallon Nevada.  Bought my first VW in 1966, been addicted ever since.
My latest is a 1969 that I traded a mitsubishi four wheel drive for in 2004.
Blew the engine in 06 and it has been sitting since then.
That is until last week when I was bitten by the "Bug" bug again.
"Stanley" is now at the shop, complete with a new (rebuilt) engine, waiting for me to come up with the cash to bring him home again.
I always thought he looked different and special, but couldn't put my finger on what it was. found out that he has wheel adapters and Chevy wheels.
Anyway, I think that I am finally old enough to appreciate the quality and engineering in these special machines.
I need to post some pictures of him, soon as I get the procedure figured out.

I would appreciate it, if you care to post a little about yourself and  your vw.
It is going to be a great summer.
Thanks

hi Hack
Good to have you here. Stanley sounds interesting. I appreciate your description of being bitten by the "bug". I too have been bitten, had the "symptoms" wane then re-emerge with a vengence.

My first encounter with bugs wasn't long ago, but it brought with it "bug fever". It's a terminal condition, I find.  So, I now have "Sonny Reign" about whom the story told will come out soon in the month's Feature.

Looking forward to seeing pictures of Stanley!

welcome aboard.

my little itch started about 20 years ago when my brother and his friend bought a 61 beetle, it was a blast to ride in . so then about 16 years later i bought a 73 super, and my daughter fell in love with her(and named her herbie), but me and herbie  parted ways for a new project, i'm currently building me a sand rail.

I read some of your posts, can't wait to see the rail in action.
I assume that you still have herbie.

Went in today, to check on "Stanley". Took him for a ride (just went off road a little bit)
He needs some work on the brakes and the cv boots need replaced. they replaced the pedel cluster and clutch cable as well.
So we save our money and wait. Right?
