I have a 72 Super Beetle Convertible with wobbly seats... I order new track guides and seat track bushings. I know where the the seat track guides go.. but how do I install the bushings? The originals are missing...

If the track in the 72 and the same as in the 73+ Super then the original bushings should be pieces of metal that clip on to the top and bottom of the square end that slides into the track. Replacements are white plastic squares that slide over the square end and then slide into the track.

Thanks Wayne.

I am not sure if its the same... in addition, mines a vert so I dont know if that also makes a difference.

The clips seem too large to fit into the channel on the seat frame itself.
I feel really silly that I cant figure out a seat...

Can anyone point me to a pic of an "exploded view" of the seat track assembly... I am still stuck.

Hi,

not sure about Your seat runners...

Mine are from a 1971 1302S super...

they have the plastic runners on them..

but the passenger seat rocks back and forth on every bump...

I'm going to take the seat back off... hopefully...

then I can attack the bottom runner...

it looks like i may have to take the seat base off and hit it with a hammer or crimp it down...

Drivers seat is OK...

but the seat moving is driving Me crazy....

it actually sounds like the door isn't shut properly...

I'm thinking now, I should have kept the original seats and tracks...

and put new covers on them....

the inlocking the seat back is very difficult too....

Hi again,

check out a few websites like CIP1 etc that advertise on here....

to see what seats you should have...

I'm not sure exactly when the seat bases changed...

one list says that the seats are adjustable to 77 different positions...

in 1973 year model...  [cars made from 1st august 1972-31st july 1973]

My other list says New seat in 1973 year model...

non of them list the difference in seat runners, as My 1968 runners were different to the 1302S 1971 seat runners...

the plastic runners must have started around 1971 models...??
